Moderator
Principal Function: The Moderator is a spiritually mature Pastor and biblically-grounded Christian who will serve as the Chief Executive of the Association and the Chairman of the Board of the Corporation. The Moderator shall be the Pastor of a church registered and in good standing with the association. The Pastor should meet the scriptural qualifications for an Overseer as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1:5-9.

A Moderator is one who is there to serve you in your time of need. Sometimes things might be going too
fast at your Church and you need some help to moderate the speed, to reduce the rush of things that might be moving too fast (be it negative or positive). Sometimes you might need the Moderator to reduce the speed of some messy situations so that the situation can bring about some fission in order for some growth to take place. Other times you might need the Moderator to preside over some meetings with an unbiased wise, spiritual and whole mindset to bring harmony to a rough and unstable predicament.
Nevertheless, the term Moderator is really given to an individual pastor who all the churches of the
Association agree upon meet the mindset and make-up for such situations that might occur and do occur
throughout and within the Church community. Therefore, the Moderator's responsibilities are to:
- Provide proper leadership for churches and their pastors
- Maintain a viable vision for the church community
- Maintain order and harmony with church matters
- Vindicate the faith and Baptist doctrine
- Provide/be a linkage for the church and civic community
- Preside over the meetings of the sessions of the Association
- Serve as the ex-officio of all Association committees, task forces, and instrumentalities with vote
- Serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Association
- Sign along with the Secretary, all legal documents as instructed by the Association and Executive Committee or Board of Directors
- Serve as the official representative of the Association
- Appoint all committees, task forces, and special teams except where otherwise directed by the bylaws
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pastor
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience pastoring a church in the association
- Above reproach character
- Demonstrated leadership acumen with an ability to exercise sound judgment
- Demonstrated vocal and visible support of the association and its initiatives both physically and financially
- Must be a consensus builder who is able to communicate a compelling vision for the association
Clerk
A clerk is someone who is responsible for recording keeping as well as general office tasks. The responsibilities of a clerk worker commonly include record keeping and filing.
The Duties:
1. Responding to phone calls and emails
2. Maintaining an organized filing system
3. Restocking office supplies as needed
4. Transcribing, recording, faxing and filing documents
5. Operating office equipment such as photocopiers and fax machines
6. Receive minutes from secretary once transcribed
7. Received corrected minutes from secretary
8. Once corrected minutes received date, initial, and file
9. Keep record of all officers, church affiliation and phone numbers
Treasurer
The Treasurer maintains the financial records of the Corporation; prepares the annual accounting and financial statements of the Corporation for the annual meeting of the membership of the Corporation (Which may be prepared by a certified public accountant when authorized by the board of directors); and reports on these matters to the board of directors and the membership of the Corporation. The Treasurer will assist the secretary in the counting of ballots in any election
of the Corporation.
Expected Qualifications:
1. Be able to understand Banking and work with banks to supervise the banking account(s) of the Corporation.
2. Understand the Federal and state procedures to renew corporate and state Registration on a yearly basis.
3. Maintain working relationship with the individual responsible for maintaining financial responsibility for the Division.
4. Present financial reports to the Board and the Members of the Association.
Congress President and Vice President
Duties and Qualifications
1. Born-Again Christian certified or certifiable by the Sunday School Publishing Board.
2. Be a member of the Berean Association in good standing.
3. Possess the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership quality to train up a child.
4. Be able to prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as responsible Christians as outlined by Ephesians 4:12.
5. Must possess strong administrative skills.
6. Must be able to plan the annual Congress of Christian Education to include securing a site.
7. Must be able to work closely with Association Dean in all matters pertaining to the selection and preparation of certified instructors and other workers for the annual Congress sessions.
Congress Dean
The dean of all Christian Leadership School must be certified by the DCEAC. The dean is responsible for supervising the operational and educational work of the Christian Leadership schools. It is the responsibility of the dean to uphold the standards and curriculum of the DCEAC.
1. The candidate must be a Christian who is competent in the field of Christian education and has exhibited administrative and supervisory skills.
2. The candidate must have earned the Certificate of Progress Program Diploma, or the alternative.
3. The candidate must subscribe to the Christian Education Informer.
4. The candidate must take courses 2099 A-B-C-D- Principles and Procedures for Dean of Christian Education.
5. The candidate must complete an internship by training in a school under the supervision of a mentoring dean.
6. The candidate must have three letters of recommendation, one of which must come from his or her pastor and one from his or her mentoring dean.
Deans are certified for five (5) years.
The dean is responsible for steering the entire operation of the Christian education function from starts to finish, which includes the following activities:
- Assign courses to qualified instructors.
- Secure school accreditation forms Christian Education informer subscription, and appropriate fees.
- Guide instructors in completion of Form-Application for Certification of instructors and or Recertification of Instructors.
Congress Secretary
1. Must be a member of the Berean Association in good standing.
2. Be faithful and dependable in accomplishing duties and have a knowledge of basic secretarial skills.
3. Provide vital support related to record keeping, reports, and other communications.
4. Generate and mail correspondences as needed for Association Churches regarding Congress activities.
5. Assist with registration of churches/delegates during Congress sessions.
Director General
The Director General's primary duties and responsibilities are carried out during the annual Congress of Christian Education. The individual serves as the primary assistant of the Congress President with regards to logistics and other duties as assigned in preparation and during the actual Congress session.
1. The Director General (DG) shall be an active member of the Berean Association and should be an active member of a Berean association Church.
2. The DG shall have strong communication skills, be thorough and have an eye for detail.
3. The DG shall have strong leadership skills and work well with others.
4. The DG shall assist in the promotion of the annual Congress of Christian Education to include securing a site, host church, and securing a date which does not interfere with the State or National Congress.
5. The DG shall assist the Congress Dean in the assignment of classrooms based on site to be used and space needed.
6. The DG shall attend the Congress daily and be accessible to lend assistance as needed.
7. The DG shall exercise reasonable care and judgement concerning safety and security of all Congress participants.
8. The DG shall arrive before all participants to ensure the site is ready for sessions and check the site at the end of each day to ensure the site is in good order.
Finally, the DG shall have a good working relationship with the Congress President and a strong understanding of the Congress mission as it relates to Christian Education.
Women's Auxiliary President
Position Characteristics:
The goal of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association is to "Build Healthy Churches" and maintain the health of the church through EQUIPPING ministries, EDIFYING members, and EXALTING Christ through EVANGELISM. The Women’s Auxiliary operates under the guidance of the parent body to support the goals and activities of the Association. The Women’s Auxiliary President serves under the by-laws of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association.
The Women’s Auxiliary operates under the procedural guidance of the parent body to:
- Organize the Women of the Berean Association
- Engage Berean Women in Mission service opportunities
- Encourage & support fellowship and collaboration among women
- Organize learning and fellowship opportunities for children and youth
The Women’s Auxiliary President shall be a member of Berean Association church. An active member in good standing in the association, eighteen years of age or older. She shall be an active member in good standing at their home church with a written or verbal recommendation from their home church pastor preferred. A ranking church official such as Chairman Deacon is
acceptable if the Pastor’s position is vacant.
The Women’s Auxiliary President shall:
- Demonstrate belief in Jesus Christ
- Demonstrate leadership abilities
- Exhibit good character
- Be able to work with others
- Attend Association meetings
- Supports Berean Association activities
- Supports the Congress of Christian Education and Laymen’s Division
Women's Auxiliary 1st Vice President
Position Characteristics:
The goal of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association is to "Build Healthy Churches" and maintain the health of the church through EQUIPPING ministries, EDIFYING members, and EXALTING Christ through EVANGELISM. The Women’s Auxiliary operates under the guidance of the parent body to support the goal and activities of the Association. The Women’s Auxiliary 1st Vice President serves under the by-laws of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association.
The Women’s Auxiliary 1st Vice President works in conjunction and as a team mate of the Women’s Auxiliary President and is available in the absence of the Women’s Auxiliary President. The Women’s Auxiliary 1st Vice President shall be a member of a Berean Association church. An active member in good standing in the association, eighteen years of age or older. She shall be an active member in good standing at their home church with a written or verbal recommendation from their home church pastor preferred. A ranking church official such as Chairman Deacon is acceptable if the Pastor’s position is vacant.
The Women’s Auxiliary 1st Vice President shall:
- Demonstrate belief in Jesus Christ
- Demonstrate leadership abilities
- Exhibit good character
- Be able to work with others
- Attend Association meetings
- Supports Berean Association activities
- Supports the Congress of Christian Education and Laymen’s Division
Women's Auxiliary 2nd Vice President
Position Characteristics:
The goal of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association is to "Build Healthy Churches" and maintain the health of the church through EQUIPPING ministries, EDIFYING members, and EXALTING Christ through EVANGELISM. The Women’s Auxiliary operates under the guidance of the parent body to support the goal and activities of the Association. The Women’s Auxiliary 2nd Vice President serves under the by-laws of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association.
The Women’s Auxiliary 2nd Vice President works in conjunction with the Women’s Auxiliary President and 1st Vice President. She is available in the absence of the Women’s Auxiliary President and 1st Vice President. The Women’s Auxiliary 2nd Vice President shall be a member of Berean Association church. An active member in good standing in the association, eighteen years of age or older. She shall be an active member in good standing at their home church with a written or verbal recommendation from their home church pastor preferred. A ranking church official such as Chairman Deacon is acceptable if the Pastor’s position is vacant.
The Women’s Auxiliary 2nd Vice President shall:

Women's Auxiliary Recording Secretary
Position Characteristics:
The goal of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association is to "Build Healthy Churches" and maintain the health of the church through EQUIPPING ministries, EDIFYING members, and EXALTING Christ through EVANGELISM. The Women’s Auxiliary operates under the guidance of the parent body to support the goal and activities of the Association. The Women’s Auxiliary Recording Secretary serves under the by-laws of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association.
The Women’s Auxiliary Recording Secretary keeps accurate records of the Women’s Auxiliary meetings. She shall be an active member in good standing in the association, eighteen years of age or older, an active member in good standing at their home church with a written or verbal recommendation from their home church pastor preferred. A ranking church official such as Chairman Deacon is acceptable if the Pastor’s position is vacant.
The Women’s Auxiliary Secretary shall:
- Demonstrate belief in Jesus Christ
- Exhibit good character
- Be able to work with others
- Attend Association Meetings
- Supports Berean Association activities
- Supports the Congress of Christian Education and Laymen’s Division
Women's Auxiliary Financial Secretary
Position Characteristics:
The goal of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association is to "Build Healthy Churches" and maintain the health of the church through EQUIPPING ministries, EDIFYING members, and EXALTING Christ through EVANGELISM. The Women’s Auxiliary operates under the guidance of the parent body to support the goal and activities of the Association. The Women’s Auxiliary Financial Secretary serves under the by-laws of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association.
The Women’s Auxiliary Secretary keeps accurate financial records for the Women’s Auxiliary. She is the liaison to the treasurer of the parent body. She shall be an active member in good standing in the association, eighteen years of age or older, an active member in good standing at their home church with a written or verbal recommendation from their home church pastor preferred. A ranking church official such as Chairman Deacon is acceptable if the Pastor’s position is vacant.
The Women’s Auxiliary Secretary shall:
- Demonstrate belief in Jesus Christ
- Exhibit good character
- Be able to work with others
